Where your team can improve

Move from knowing there is a problem to knowing what to do

Visibility tracking shows where your brand is weak. Actions check the public places your team can influence and show where a practical improvement is available.

01Direct control

Owned presence

Find gaps in the public brand information your team controls and can improve directly.

02Brand clarity

Identity

See where AI lacks enough clarity to recognize the right brand, offering, or category.

03Wider footprint

Supporting signals

Identify where your broader public presence needs stronger and more consistent signals.

04Independent proof

Third-party authority

See where independent coverage is helping competitors more than it helps your brand.

One working loop

Move from diagnosis to a result you can check

Each card keeps the grade, evidence, action, and next audit together, so an issue can move from discovery to verification without losing its context.

01

Audit the surface

friction AI checks the public signals most relevant to how your brand appears in AI answers.

02

See what needs work

Cards are graded Poor, Average, Good, Excellent, or Not audited, with the most urgent open issues surfaced first.

03

Open the evidence

Open the finding, supporting evidence, and recommended next step instead of working from a summary score.

04

Fix and rerun

Make the change in the system you control, then refresh the individual audit or rerun all cards to measure the new state.

Evidence inside every card

See exactly why an action needs attention

Open a card to see why it received its grade and what the finding means for the brand surface being audited.

01

The current grade and number of open actions

02

The evidence or checks responsible for that grade

03

Affected pages, channels, sources, or content gaps

04

A specific action guide for the finding

05

The audit date and a control to rerun the check

FAQ

How AI Optimization Actions work

What are AI Optimization Actions?

AI Optimization Actions audit public websites, profiles, channels, third-party pages, and supported access settings associated with how brand information can be discovered and represented. Each card shows the current status, why it received that status, and what your team can do next.

Does friction AI make the changes automatically?

No. friction AI diagnoses the issue and shows the evidence and action guidance. Your team or agency implements the change in the relevant website, profile, publisher, or third-party channel, then reruns the audit to check the result.

Which surfaces are audited?

Actions cover owned, identity, supporting, and third-party brand surfaces, plus supported technical access checks. These findings identify issues your team can address; they do not prove that any single fix will change an AI answer.

Which crawler types matter for AI search?

Search and indexing crawlers such as OAI-SearchBot, Claude-SearchBot, PerplexityBot, and Googlebot are distinct from model-development crawlers such as GPTBot and ClaudeBot, and from user-requested retrieval agents. friction AI keeps those purposes separate. An llms.txt file is optional and is not presented as a requirement for AI search visibility.

How are Actions connected to the rest of friction AI?

Actions become available after your initial brand and prompt analysis. They check the public places that may influence AI, while prompt tracking and the Brand Audit continue to show how your brand performs in AI answers.

Does a better audit grade prove that AI visibility improved?

No. A rerun confirms that the audited website, profile, or content issue changed. Prompt tracking shows whether AI visibility moved, and Prompt Experiments can test whether an observed lift repeats.

Can I rerun an audit after making a change?

Yes. You can refresh an individual card or rerun all supported card audits. The updated evidence and grade show whether the audited surface changed.

Turn the next visibility gap into a concrete action

Audit the surfaces behind AI answers, inspect the evidence, make the fix, and rerun the check.
